Worship in Spirit & Truth Part1 "Worship is personal"

"John 4:23 - But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him."

If we look in the Bible we will see that worship was a very personal thing. From the beginning we see how men worshipped God in the silent, and how they had a personal relationship with God. We notice this from Adam to Abraham, to Isaac, to Jacobs, to Moses, to David, the prophets, and hundreds of other men of God. These men knew how to worship God, because they had a very close personal relationship with their Lord. They knew what it was to fall prostrate before God in worship, they knew all about the fear of God. There was nothing else for them to do, but give God worship and praise every time they came into His presence. They didn't need any music to worship God, they didn't need any building to go and worship in, and they surely didn't need a worship leader to take them to the Throne of God. The reason why they didn't need any of this was because of their walk with God. Nothing else mattered to them, but serving God, and being obedient to His voice and to feel His presence every time they had conversation with Him. There was no one to tell them to fall on their knees or to lift their hands in adoration to God; it was part of their every day life. They knew that they had to please God with the way they lived their lives, and they knew what it was to bring sacrifices of praise to Him. This is the kind of walk that pleases God. That is why God could say of David that he was a man close to His heart. We must also remember that these men were human, and wasn't without faults. There were times in their lives when they made mistakes that didn't please God, but because of their relationship they knew how to repent and they knew what God wanted from them.
